Create Your First Dataset

Follow these steps to import data and start transforming it with Rowbase.

Step 1: Create an Organization

Sign up

Go to app.rowbase.com and create your account using email or Google SSO.

Create an organization

After signing in, you’ll be prompted to create your first organization. This is where all your projects and datasets will live.

Invite your team (optional)

Navigate to Settings → Members to invite teammates to collaborate on your data.

Step 2: Create a Project

Projects help you organize related datasets together.

Click 'New Project'

From your organization dashboard, click the New Project button.

Name your project

Give your project a descriptive name like “Q1 Sales Analysis” or “Customer Data Cleanup”.

Step 3: Import Your Data

  1. Click Upload in your project
  2. Drag and drop your file or click to browse
  3. Supported formats: CSV, Excel (.xlsx, .xls), JSON
  4. Rowbase automatically detects column types and headers
  5. Review the preview and click Import
You can upload multiple files at once. Each file becomes a separate dataset.

Step 4: Transform Your Data

Once your data is imported, you can apply operations to clean and transform it.

Filter Rows

Remove rows that don’t match specific criteria

Add Columns

Create computed columns with formulas

Rename & Normalize

Standardize column names and values

AI Transformations

Use AI to categorize, extract, and enrich data
